In December Dru switched on the Christmas lights in the Milton Keynes Theatre District, during which £800 was raised for The Association of Young People with ME (AYME).

Dru had cause for double celebration as he was also highly commended in the ‘child of courage’ category at the Pride in MK awards ceremony. He was born with hypermobility syndrome, which means he needs regular exercise to stop his joints extending dangerously. At six he became ill with Myalgic Encephalomyelitis (ME), a condition that disrupts his education and isolates him from his friends.

Mary-Jane Willows, CEO of AYME says: "He is a truly courageous young lad, and a great ambassador for the children’s charity."
