The Red Lion, Little Missenden
This historic inn which dates back to 1649 enjoys a picturesque setting and has featured in Midsomer Murders. The food is unpretentious, home-cooked and made from local ingredients and organic produce wherever possible. HRH Prince Harry has eaten here with friends – he had the honey roast ham, egg and chips. Other dishes include fresh fish, free range steaks, homemade pies and Sunday roasts.

The New Inn, Milton Keynes
This friendly, traditional pub in the village of New Bradwell has a canal-side setting and a garden for outdoor dining. The Green Dragon, Haddenham
