A work of art

Artist and illustrator David Gentleman has travelled across Britain and Ireland looking for scenes which give each area its particular character. This work was first printed in 1982 but this is a digitally enhanced reprint hardback version of the book which is bursting with bright and beautiful images in watercolour, pen and wash. Each image is accompanied by text describing the scene in detail with David, a former student at Hertford Grammar School and then the Royal College of Art from 1950, adding in a bit of history and colour. A beautiful book to browse through and reminisce about places you may have visited that David has brought to life.
